According to a report by Bloomberg, more than 1,000 jobs will be affected in Salesforce. However, workers coming under the purview of retrenchment will be given the opportunity to apply for other jobs in the company. A representative of Slesforce refused to comment on this. It is not known which divisions will be trimmed. Salesforce has around 73,000 workers. The company making customer management software has increased hiring for products related to AI. However, along with this, the company’s target profit is also to maintain the margin.

Earlier, American companies like Amazon and Microsoft are also preparing to lay down workers. Another major technology company Google has also planned to be trimmed this year. Google workers are worried about this. The workers of the company have started an internal petition titled ‘Job Security’. Recently, a media report stated that more than 1,250 workers of Google have signed this petition. This is indicating increasing concern in workers about the possibility of retrenchment in the company.

These workers say that such steps have affected their ability to work with good quality and weaken morale. The petition states, “We are worried about the instability in Google. This has affected the ability to work with high quality and impact. Sorting makes us feel insecure about jobs. The company is definitely in a strong financial position.” In October last year, Google’s CFO, Anat Ashkenazi said that in the coming year, their priorities would include decreasing the cost. However, he did not reveal how this reduction in cost would be.
